Glasser’s Five Needs and Choice Theory

William Glasser, in his ‘Choice Theory’ (renamed from his ‘Control Theory’) detailed five needs that are quite close to Maslow’s Hierarchy, but with some interesting twists.

According to Glasser, the four basic psychological needs of belonging, competence, freedom and fun are the foundation for intrinsic motivation.
